WINFIELD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
AFTERNOON CAR RIDER SAFETY

Waiting in line to pick your child up can be long and frustrating.  Our goal is to get your student(s) loaded quickly and safely in the afternoons.  We are asking you to be patient with us and cooperate by following these instructions.

  1. We have had some “near-misses”,  so we are asking that you not use your cell phone during loading time. 
  2. Please do not leave large gaps between you and the next car….we need to serve as many cars as possible.
  3. Students will load from sidewalk side of vehicle.
  4.  Do not pass another vehicle while children are loading.  Wait until the vehicles in front of you are all loaded before pulling away from curb.
  5. Children may not walk across the parking lot to be picked up.  If you choose to not wait in the car rider line, you may park in the side parking lot and enter thru the back lunch room door.
  6. If your child is not present when you arrive, you will be asked to pull into a parking spot to wait.
  7. If your child is not picked up by 3:20, he/she will be placed in the after-school program and a fee assessed.
  8. Please put the car rider name sign (provided by us) in your car window so duty personnel can read it from a distance. 

We hope these guidelines will benefit all involved for the safety of your child.

*     Due to the new addition to the school building, the construction crew will be blocking off the road that goes behind the school soon.  We know this will be an inconvenience to some of you, but remember it is temporary.
