The Automotive technology class is part of trades and industrial education dealing with the development of the knowledge, basic skills and attitudes that will prepare the individual for employment upon graduation. This course will teach students how to work with their hands and the importance of working with other students to achieve a goal.

Vocational Industrial Clubs of America VICA The youth organization for Automotive Technology is VICA. All students enrolled in the Automotive class are members of VICA. The students are nominated by popular vote and then elected by ballot. I believe VICA helps students build leadership skills and to be able to work with others in the achievement of goals. The students are given opportunity to compete in various contests including but not limited to Automotive at the state and possibly the national level.
